Daniel Montaigne '95



Dan spent the first part of his career on Wall Street, and subsequently 13 years with Active International, where he structured transactions to provide clients maximum value for their impaired assets.  In 2013, Dan joined Strategies for Wealth, where he provides his clients valuable ideas relating to retirement, asset growth, and cash flow protection. Dan is a member of YJP, co-chair of the legacy Gifting program at The Community Synagogue, and coaches his kids basketball teams.  Dan resides in Port Washington with his wife Allison, and three children, Ethan, Ava, and Isabel. 

Joe Bednar BFA '97, MS/MBA '00

Board Member, Former President

Joe graduated from Whitman with an MBA in Marketing in 2000. That same year, he also received his MS degree in Media Management, a joint program offered by both Whitman and the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. A true "Orangeman," in 1997 Joe earned an undergraduate BFA degree in Film Production from SU's College of Visual & Performing Arts (VPA). Now a marketing professional with 15+ years in media, entertainment, and telecommunications, Joe blends his interests together.  As General Manager of PowerVJ, a national music video distribution and advertising platform for bars and nightclubs, he oversees operations, marketing, ad sales, and venue relations.  Joe has served WhitmanNYC since its launch in 2008 as Webmaster and two terms as VP before becoming President of the Club.


Latchmie Lalchand 



Latchmie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pace University Lubin School of Business in Manhattan in 2003. During her time at Pace, Latchmie also worked as a paralegal at a Wall Street Law Firm. Upon graduation from Pace, she began her accounting career as a tax consultant at Deloitte. Currently, Latchmie is earning her Master’s degree in Accounting from Syracuse University Whitman School of Management and is the CFO at, an eCommerce Company. In her spare time, Latchmie enjoys cycling, tennis and figure skating.  She is a widow, lives in Long Island with her two daughters and loves the opportunity to “give back….”.

Adrienne Gulino '15

Chair, Social Committee


Adrienne graduated in 2015 from Whitman with a dual major in Retail Management and Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises.  She spent the Spring semester of her junior year at the Syracuse University London campus and still never missed a Syracuse Basketball game.  Following a Summer internship at Ross Stores, she went on to join them as an Assistant Buyer in men’s active apparel.  Prior to SU, Adrienne graduated from the Bishop’s School in La Jolla, where she played tennis and waterpolo, and received the Robert M. Wolterstorff Community Service Award.  She now enjoys cycling, trying new workout classes, and getting together with Syracuse alumni. 


Nicole Bovell JD/MBA '06

Chair, Service Committee


Nicole graduated from SU with a JD/MBA with a concentration in Finance. She has over 10 years of experience in the legal profession by working as a research assistant, paralegal, litigation support and an attorney.  She has gained experience in various areas of law such as Intellectual Property, Corporate Products Liability, Bankruptcy, Securities, Contract Law, and Class Action Defense. 


David Finkelstein '82

Director & Former President


David graduated as a dual-major in Finance (Whitman) and Telecommunications Management (The Newhouse School). An avid SU supporter, Dave co-chaired the Class of '82 25th reunion and can often be seen at Syracuse games held in the New York area. David is a Principal at The Williams Capital Group, L.P., where he assists Fortune 100 companies raise debt and equity capital.


Alison Kessler

Whitman Club Liaison


Alison Kessler is the alumni publications and outreach manager at the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. She has amassed more than 20 years of experience in integrated marketing communications in the corporate, agency, not-for-profit, government and higher education sectors. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and mass communication and psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.


Justin Sutter '06

Vice President

Justin graduated from Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Business in 2006, with a dual major in Finance and Entrepreneurship. He started his career at FTI Consulting, where he provided real estate advisory services for domestic and international real estate owners, developers, and private equity firms. Justin is currently a Principal at Essex Real Estate Partners, a real estate investment and advisory firm based in Midtown Manhattan. 


David Cykiert '05



David Cykiert graduated from SU with a BS in Business Management in 2005. Post-graduation, David spent a year teaching state-subsidized English and math classes in inner-city schools, before eventually enrolling in the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Upon graduating from “Cardozo,” David temporarily put aside his legal degree and spent three years working business development for start-up e-commerce platforms. Since late 2013, David has practiced Corporate Law, with a focus on corporate finance and capital markets, at a mid-sized Manhattan law firm.  David enjoys fishing, camping, hiking, gardening and nature, generally. David currently lives on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

Robert Geils ’85

Co-Chair, Mentorship Committee


Rob graduated in 1985 with a dual B.S. in Telecommunications Management (Newhouse) and Marketing (Whitman). Rob has been a sales and marketing professional in Manhattan since graduation, holding sales and marketing positions at MetLife, JP Morgan Chase, and HSBC.  Since 2007, Rob has built a successful business as a licensed associate real estate broker at the Corcoran Group. Rob has been networking heavily since graduation, and has a strong desire to connect SU alumni to build a stronger, more valuable experience for the thousands of SU graduates in the NY Metro area. Rob has lived in the West Village with his wife Maura and daughter Lily since 1997. 

Tony Carnesi MS '84

Co-Chair, Mentorship Committee


After graduating, Tony became a CPA and worked for sixteen years in public accounting firms, where he managed audits and tax engagements for a wide range of businesses. Then, motivated by the conviction that accounting should be used as a tool for positive change, Tony launched his own consulting firm.  For close to two decades Tony has been helping business owners and shareholders implement business management practices that allow them to maximize their profits and their quality of life. His approach is characterized by empathy, thoroughness, and straightforward honesty – a combination that ensures a productive relationship with his clients.  Tony is a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has appeared recently on Fox Business News, Good Day NY, and in the New York Times and Crains NY. He is an Eagle Scout, a singer, songwriter and wicked fine guitarist. 


Ashley Thombs '14

Social Media Manager


As an undergraduate student in Whitman, Ashley kept herself busy with a number of different involvements and leadership opportunities. At Whitman, she was a member of the professional service fraternity, Beta Alpha Psi, and served as the organization’s treasurer. She was also a Whitman Peer Facilitator for three years, advising incoming Whitman students and helping them acclimate themselves to life at Syracuse. As an undergraduate, Ashley spent two summers as a Financial Management Program Intern for General Electric’s Corporate Headquarters. Ashley ultimately launched her career in accounting as a Real Estate Tax Associate at KPMG, where she began work in October 2015, following the completion of her Master of Science degree in accounting at Whitman in May 2015.
